Frequently Asked Questions

Everyone can benefit from therapy! You do not need to be struggling with a mental health challenge.  If you are looking to improve your overall emotional well-being, than therapy can be for you. 

We currently only work with adults at our clinic, but we look forward to growing to offer services to other populations. 


YES! We work from a hybrid model, so we can provide virtual services all over Ontario, either by virtual video (through a secure, PHIPA-approved app) or by phone; as well as in-person services at our office in Peterborough, Ontario. 


We will always encourage clients to start with a free 20-minute initial consultation to get a sense of what your needs are at this time, and whether it would be a good fit. To book you can click "Book Now" directly from our Homepage, or reach out through our contact form. 


After the consultation, if it is mutually agreed it is not a good fit, we will work with you to make other suggestions based on your needs. If it does feel like a good fit, we will proceed with booking an intake session.


Intake sessions are approximately 75 minutes, and can happen in-person at the office or virtual video on our PHIPA-approved platform (Jane app). The goals of the intake session are to build rapport and gather more information about your primary concerns, relevant history, and what matters most for you in your life. You do not need to share any information that you are not ready to - we will move at your pace! Lastly, we will collaboratively create a treatment plan. 


The frequency of therapy sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. Some clients attend therapy weekly, while others may attend less frequently. We will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan. Many clients attend on a bi-weekly basis, if their schedules allow. 


 Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists’ day that could have been filled by another client. As such, we require 48 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Clients who provide less than 48 hours notice will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the session fee; if it is less than 24 hours notice or a missed appointment, then the full session fee will apply.
